While we are excited on human trials of a potential Corona virus vaccine developed at the University of Oxford in UK commencing Thursday (as per UK health minister), Doctor Alert proudly shares another incident of rescue which occurred on 21st Apr’20.
Though it was not a life threatening case however providing assistance during this distorted phase of Corona outbreak within limited timeline has been a challenge. We also appreciate the prompt response from the emergency paramedic team who reached out the patient’s home in minimum time post Doctor Alert operators received a “Fall Down” alarm.
Our response centre received an SOS call immediately after the user fell on the floor. He badly hurt his ribs and caught breathing problem however in spite of being in his 80s he was brave enough to convey the situation making it easier for the experts to handle. This case could have been taken care remotely with certain advises & guidance with help of neighbors or emergency contacts registered with us however we preferred people not to intervene when the country is restricted to lock-down & asked to maintain social distancing. He was advised not to lift any weight nor to do anything that takes heavy breaths. Paramedics was already arranged who reached the place & performed few rapid tests to diagnose the status. They provided few medicines which gave huge relief to the patient & Doctor Alert team was again privileged to provide help to someone with technology & care.
